John 4

⁵ He came to a town there called Sychar. It was near the field Jacob gave to his son Joseph a long time ago.

⁷ A woman from Samaria came to pull up water. Jesus said to her, "Will you give me a drink?"

⁹ The woman stared at him. "You are a Jew. I am a woman from Samaria. How can you ask me for a drink?" Jews did not talk to Samaritans. Ever.

¹¹ The woman said, "Sir, you do not even have a bucket. This well goes way down. So where are you going to get living water?"

¹⁶ Jesus said to her, "Go get your husband. Bring him back here."
