Matthew 5

¹ Jesus saw all the crowds. He went up the mountain. He sat down. His followers gathered around him.

³ "Blessed are people who know how empty they are inside. They know how much they need God. The Kingdom of Heaven belongs to them."

⁴ "Blessed are people who cry. God will wrap his arms around them."

⁵ "Blessed are people who are gentle. One day the whole earth will be theirs."

⁶ "Blessed are people who are hungry and thirsty for what is right, like someone who is starving wants food! They will get their fill."
