Matthew 17

⁵ While he was still talking, a bright cloud covered them. A voice boomed out from the cloud. "This is my Son! I love him! He makes me so happy! Listen to him!"

¹⁹ Later, when they were alone, the followers came to Jesus. "Why could we not force it out?" they asked.

²² While they were still in Galilee, Jesus told them, "The Son of Man is going to be handed over to his enemies."

²⁴ They came into Capernaum. The men who collected the temple tax came to Peter. "Does your teacher pay the temple tax?" they asked.

²⁵ "Yes," Peter said. When Peter walked inside the house, Jesus spoke first. "What do you think, Simon? When kings collect taxes, who pays? Their own kids? Or everyone else?"
