Job 1

¹ A man lived in the land of Uz. His name was Job. That man did what was right. Blameless. He feared God and turned away from evil.

⁴ His sons used to go and hold feasts in their houses. Each one on his day. They would send and invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them.

⁶ One day the sons of God came to present themselves before Yahweh. Satan also came among them.

⁸ Yahweh said to Satan, "Have you thought about my servant Job? There is no one like him on the earth. A man who does what is right. Blameless. He fears God and turns away from evil."

⁹ Satan answered Yahweh, "Does Job fear God for no reason?"
