Job 2

¹ One day the sons of God came to present themselves before Yahweh. Satan also came among them to present himself before Yahweh.

⁶ Yahweh said to Satan, "He is in your hand. Only spare his life."

⁷ Satan went out from the presence of Yahweh. He struck Job with terrible sores from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head.

⁹ His wife said to him, "Do you still hold on to your integrity? Curse God and die."

¹¹ Job had three friends. They heard of all this trouble that had come upon him. Each came from his own place. Eliphaz the Temanite. Bildad the Shuhite. Zophar the Naamathite. They made an appointment together to come. To show him sympathy. To comfort him.
