Genesis 38

¹ Around that time, Judah left his brothers. He went to stay with a friend named Hirah from Adullam.

⁶ Judah picked a wife for his oldest son Er. Her name was Tamar.

¹² Years went by. Judah's wife died. After he stopped crying, he went up to Timnah to cut wool from his sheep. His friend Hirah went with him.

²⁰ Judah sent the goat with his friend Hirah. Hirah went to get the things back from the woman. He could not find her.
