David: Absalom's Rebellion

Amnon, one of David's sons, wants his half-sister Tamar. The wanting burns in him like a fever. His cousin gives him a wicked plan. Pretend to be sick. Ask David to send Tamar to cook for you. Amnon does it. David sends Tamar to his house. She walks in. She does not know what waits for her.

Tamar brings food to Amnon's room. He grabs her. No! she cries. Please stop! But Amnon forces her. Then something turns inside him. Hatred fills his heart. Get out! he yells. A servant throws her out and locks the door. Tamar stands alone in the hall. Broken.

Tamar rips her beautiful robe. She puts ashes on her head. She walks away crying. Her brother Absalom finds her and takes her into his house. David hears what happened. Anger burns in him. But he does nothing. Absalom says nothing to Amnon either. But deep inside, hatred grows. It grows for two...
