Mark 2

¹ Days passed. Jesus went back to Capernaum. Word got out. He was home.

⁶ Teachers of the law sat in the crowd. Their minds started racing.

¹² The man jumped to his feet! He grabbed his mat. He walked straight through the crowd and out the door. Everyone stared. They could not believe it. They gave praise to God. "We have never seen anything like that!"

¹⁴ He saw a man sitting at a tax table. His name was Levi. His father was Alphaeus. Jesus walked up. "Follow me," he said. Levi stood up and left everything behind.

¹⁵ That night Jesus ate at Levi's house. Tax men filled the room. People who did bad things filled the room. They all sat at the table with Jesus and his followers. Lots of people like this started following Jesus now.
