Luke 24

¹ Very early Sunday morning the women came back to the tomb. The sky was just turning gray with first light. They brought the spices they made.

⁴ They stood there shaking. They did not know what to think. Right then two men appeared next to them! Their clothes blazed bright like lightning!

¹³ That same day two of Jesus' followers walked to a village called Emmaus. About seven miles from Jerusalem.

¹⁸ One of them was named Cleopas. He spoke back. "Are you the only person in Jerusalem who has not heard what happened these past few days?"

²⁵ Jesus said to them. "You do not think straight! Your hearts are so slow to trust what the prophets said.
