Luke 14

¹ Another Sabbath day came. Jesus went to eat at the house of a very important Pharisee. Every person there watched him like a hawk.

⁷ Jesus watched the guests push to grab the best seats at the table. So he told them something.

⁸ "When you go to a wedding party, do not run to take the best seat. Someone more important might be coming."

¹⁶ Jesus looked at him. "A man planned a huge feast. He invited many people."

²¹ "The worker went back. He told his master everything. The master's face went red with anger! He said, 'Go right now! Go to every street in the city. Every dirty alley. Bring back the poor! The ones with broken bodies! The blind! The ones who cannot walk!'"
