Genesis 42

1 Jacob heard there was grain in Egypt. He stared at his sons. "Why are you just sitting there? Why do you keep looking at each other like that?"

6 Joseph was the one who ruled the land now. He was the one who sold grain to everyone who came. When his brothers arrived, they bowed down low in front of him. Their faces touched the ground.

7 Joseph saw them. He knew them right away. But he acted like a stranger. His voice came out cold. Hard. "Where are you from?" They answered, "From the land of Canaan. We came to buy food."

17 He threw them all in prison. Three days.

27 Night came. They stopped to rest. One man opened his bag to feed his donkey. His money lay right there on top.
