Genesis 32

¹ Jacob went on his way too. And then it happened! Angels of God came to meet him on the road.

³ Jacob sent men ahead to find his brother Esau. Esau lived in the land of Seir, in the wild country of Edom.

⁷ Fear grabbed Jacob's heart like a fist. He split his people into two groups. He split the sheep, the cows, and the camels the same way.

⁹ Then Jacob dropped to his knees. "God of my father Abraham! God of my father Isaac! Yahweh, you told me to go back to my dirt and my people. You promised to be good to me."

²² That night, Jacob got up. He took his two wives, his two servant girls, and his eleven boys. He walked them across the low water at the Jabbok River.
