Genesis 33

¹ Jacob looked up. Esau was walking toward him. Four hundred men walked behind him! Jacob put the children with Leah, Rachel, and the two servant girls.

³ Jacob walked out in front. He walked toward his brother. Seven times he dropped to the dirt and put his face down before he got to Esau.

⁴ Esau ran! He threw his arms around Jacob and hugged him tight. He kissed his neck over and over. They both cried.

¹⁷ Jacob went to Succoth. He built a house and put up little shelters for his animals. That is why the place is called Succoth. It means little shelters.

¹⁸ At last Jacob came to the city of Shechem in Canaan. He had come all the way from Paddan Aram. He set up his tent outside the city.
