Genesis 3

The snake was the most clever of all the wild animals Yahweh God had made. More clever than any other. It said to the woman, "Did God really say you can't eat from any tree in the garden?"

"God knows that when you eat from it, your eyes will open wide. You'll be like God, knowing good and evil."

The woman stared at the tree. The fruit looked delicious. Beautiful to see. And it would make her wise! Her hand reached out. She picked the fruit. She bit into it. She ate. Then she gave some to her husband, who was right there with her. He ate too.

Their eyes opened. Both of them. They looked down at their bodies. Naked! They grabbed fig leaves, wove them together, covered themselves.

That evening, a cool breeze moved through the garden. They heard the sound of Yahweh God walking. The man and his wife hid among the trees.
