Genesis 4

¹ Adam slept with his wife Eve. She became pregnant and gave birth to Cain. She said, "With Yahweh's help, I have made a man!"

² Later she gave birth to Abel. Abel became a shepherd. Cain worked the ground, growing crops.

³ Time passed. Cain brought some of his crops as a gift to Yahweh.

⁶ Yahweh said to Cain, "Why are you angry? Why has your face fallen?"

⁸ Cain said to Abel his brother, "Let's go out to the field." When they were alone, Cain turned on Abel. He killed him.
