Genesis 2

⁷ Yahweh God scooped up dirt from the ground. He shaped a man. He leaned close and breathed into the man's nose. The man's chest rose. He was alive!

⁸ Yahweh God planted a garden far to the east, in Eden. He put the man there.

⁹ Yahweh God made trees grow from the ground. Beautiful trees. Trees heavy with good fruit. In the middle of the garden stood two trees, the tree of life and the tree of knowing good and evil.

¹⁶ Yahweh God gave the man one command. "Eat from any tree in the garden. Any tree you want."

¹⁸ Yahweh God said, "It's not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who fits him perfectly."
