Exodus 32

1 Down below, the people saw that Moses was taking forever to come down from the mountain. They crowded around Aaron. "Get up!" they shouted. "Make us gods to walk ahead of us! This Moses, the man who brought us out of Egypt, who knows what happened to him?"

2 Aaron told them, "Pull the gold rings from the ears of your wives, your sons, and your daughters. Bring them all to me."

5 Aaron stared at the golden calf. He built an altar right in front of it. Then he shouted to everyone, "Tomorrow we will throw a feast to Yahweh!"

15 Moses spun around and rushed down the mountain. He gripped the two covenant tablets in his hands. Words covered both sides of the stone. Front and back.

20 He grabbed the calf they had made, threw it into the flames, crushed it into dust, poured the dust into the water, and made the people of Israel drink every drop!
