The Law & Tabernacle
Moses brings Yahweh's words back to the camp. Every person says the same thing: "We will do what Yahweh says!" Moses tells them to wash and get ready. Three days. He draws a line at the foot of Mount Sinai. No one may cross it. Wait. Watch.
The third day. Thunder crashes over the mountain! White fire hits the rocks! Thick smoke rises like a wall. A horn blast grows louder and louder until the ground shakes under their feet. Everyone falls down. Then Yahweh speaks from the fire. No other gods. No idols. Keep the Sabbath. No killing. No...
The people shake at the sound of Yahweh's voice. They cannot stand. They beg Moses, "You talk to him for us! If we keep hearing his voice, we will die!" Moses tells them not to be afraid. But they step back, eyes wide. They want Moses to go up alone.
