2 Samuel 11
1 Spring came. This was when kings marched out to war. David sent Joab with his officers and all of Israel's army. They smashed the Ammonite forces and trapped the city of Rabbah. But David stayed back in Jerusalem.
3 David sent someone to find out who she was. The man came back and said, "That is Bathsheba. She is Eliam's daughter. She is married to Uriah the Hittite."
4 David sent men to bring her to the palace. She came. He slept with her. She had just finished her monthly cleaning. Then she went back home.
6 David sent orders to Joab at the battle. The message said, "Send Uriah the Hittite back to me." Joab sent him back.
7 When Uriah walked in, David asked him how everything was going. He asked how Joab was doing. He asked how the soldiers were doing. He asked how the war was going.
