¹⁸ Then Jehu gathered all the people together. He stood before them and said, "Ahab served Baal a little bit. Jehu will serve Baal a lot more!"

²⁴ So they went in to offer gifts and burnt offerings. Now Jehu had already put eighty men outside the building. He warned them, "I am putting these men into your hands. If even one of them escapes, you will pay for it with your life."

²⁶ They pulled out the sacred stone from the temple and burned it!

²⁸ That is how Jehu destroyed Baal worship in Israel.
