1 Samuel 2

¹¹ Elkanah walked back home to Ramah. The boy Samuel stayed at the Tabernacle. He worked for Yahweh under Eli the priest.

¹² Eli had two sons. Evil men. They did not know Yahweh at all.

²² Eli grew very old. He heard stories. Bad stories. His sons were hurting the people of Israel. They even slept with the women who worked at the door of the Meeting Tent.

²³ He said to his sons, "Why are you doing things like this? Everyone tells me about the evil you do."

²⁷ A prophet came to Eli. He said, "Yahweh says: I showed myself to your family back when they were slaves under Pharaoh in Egypt."
