1 Samuel 13

⁷ Some Hebrews ran across the Jordan River to the lands of Gad and Gilead. Saul stayed at Gilgal. The men with him shook with fear.

¹¹ Samuel said, "What did you just do?" Saul said, "My men were running away. You did not come when you said you would. The Philistines had gathered at Michmash."

¹⁹ No one in all Israel could work with metal. The Philistines had made sure of it! They said, "We cannot let the Hebrews make swords and spears!"
