¹⁵ Asa's twenty-seventh year over Judah. Zimri ruled seven days in Tirzah. Right then the army was camped at Gibbethon, a Philistine town.

¹⁸ Zimri saw the city fall. He ran into the back room of the king's house. He set fire to the place with himself locked inside. He died in the flames.

²¹ Then Israel's people split into two groups. Half wanted Tibni son of Ginath as king. Half wanted Omri.

²⁹ Asa's thirty-eighth year over Judah. Ahab son of Omri grabbed Israel's throne. Ahab ruled over Israel from Samaria twenty-two years.
