1 Kings 11

1 But then something broke. King Solomon loved many women from other nations. He loved Pharaoh's daughter. He loved women from Moab, Ammon, Edom, Sidon, and the Hittite lands.

11 So Yahweh said to Solomon, "You did this. You broke My promise. You threw out My laws. So I will rip the kingdom right out of your hand and give it to one of your servants."

26 Then another man rose up against the king. His name was Jeroboam son of Nebat from the tribe of Ephraim, from the town of Zeredah. He worked for Solomon. His mother's name was Zeruah. She had no husband.

40 Solomon heard it all. He tried to kill Jeroboam! Jeroboam ran. He fled to Egypt, to King Shishak. He stayed there until Solomon died.

41 Everything else Solomon did is written down. His actions and his wise words. You can read about them in the book about Solomon.
