The Throne Room

A door stands open in the sky. The voice John heard before, loud like a horn, calls up to him. Come up here. I will show you what is coming. In a flash the Spirit catches him up. John stands before a great throne. The air feels heavy with something he cannot name.

Someone sits on the throne. He shines like clear red and green stones. A rainbow curves all around the throne, green as emerald. Light pours from him and fills everything. The One on the throne blazes so bright that no shadow can live near him.

Twenty-four smaller thrones circle the great throne. On each one sits an elder dressed in white. Gold crowns rest on their heads. From the center throne come flashes of lightning. Thunder cracks and rolls. Seven lamps burn bright in front of the throne. These are the seven Spirits of God.
