Ezra's Reform II
Esther fell at the king's feet, tears on her face. "Please! Stop the order!" The king nodded. He let Mordecai write new letters and stamp them with the royal seal. The Jews could fight back when the day came. Riders jumped on fast horses and rushed out with the news. Hope spread across the land...
The terrible day came. Enemies rushed at the Jews with swords. But the Jews fought back! They struck down everyone who tried to kill them. When the fighting ended, the Jews were still standing. Their families were safe. Their children were alive.
After the danger passed, Mordecai and Esther set up a feast called Purim. Every year, families would read the story out loud together. They would share food and give gifts. They would remember how a brave queen stood up and how Yahweh saved his people.
