Revelation 1

¹ God pulled back the cover on Jesus Christ! This book shows what must happen soon. God gave it to Jesus. Jesus sent His angel with it. The angel gave it to His servant John.

⁴ From John to the seven churches in Asia. Grace and peace to you from the One who is, who was, and who is coming! And from the seven Spirits who stand before His throne.

⁵ And from Jesus Christ! He tells the truth no matter what. He was the first to rise from the dead. He rules over every king on earth. He loves us! He washed away our sins with His own blood.

⁷ He is coming with the clouds! Every eye will see Him. Even the ones who stabbed Him. All the people on earth will cry and pound their chests because of Him. Yes! It will happen!

⁹ I am John. I am your brother. I share the pain with you. I share the kingdom with you. I share the fight to hold on with Jesus. They sent me to the island called Patmos because I spoke God's word and told what Jesus showed me.
