¹ Five sisters pushed through the crowd! They were daughters of Zelophehad. Their father came from Hepher. Hepher came from Gilead. Gilead came from Machir. Machir came from Manasseh, Joseph's line. The sisters were Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.

⁸ "Make this a rule for Israel: When a man dies with no sons, his land goes to his daughters."

¹⁵ Moses prayed to Yahweh,

¹⁸ Yahweh told Moses, "Take Joshua, son of Nun. My Spirit lives inside him. Put your hand on him."
