Matthew 20

¹ "The Kingdom of Heaven works like this. A man owns grape fields. Early one morning, he walks out to find workers."

⁸ When the sun went down, the man who owned the field said to his helper, "Call the workers over here. Pay them their money. Start with the ones who came last. Finish with the ones who came first."

¹³ The owner looked at one of them. "Friend, I did not cheat you. You said yes to this pay. Right?"

²⁰ Then the mother of James and John walked up to Jesus. Her two sons came with her. She got down on her knees in front of him. She wanted to ask for something big.

²⁴ The other ten heard what happened. They got so mad at James and John!
