Genesis 20

¹ Abraham packed up and moved south into the desert. He stayed between Kadesh and Shur. He lived as an outsider in Gerar.

² While he was there, Abraham told people that Sarah was his sister. King Abimelech of Gerar heard about her. He sent men to bring her to his house.

³ That night, God came to Abimelech in a dream. "You are a dead man. The woman you took belongs to another man."

¹⁴ Abimelech gave Abraham sheep, cows, and helpers. Men and women to work for him. He gave Sarah back.

¹⁷ Abraham prayed to God for Abimelech. God healed him. He healed his wife. He healed all the women who worked in his house so they could have babies again.
