Genesis 19

¹ The two angels reached Sodom that night. Lot sat at the city gate. When he saw them, he jumped up! He dropped to the ground, face down.

³ Lot begged them. He would not stop. Finally they agreed. They followed him to his house. He made a big meal. He baked fresh bread. They ate.

⁴ Before anyone could go to bed, every man in the city came. Young men. Old men. From every part of Sodom. They packed in around Lot's house.

¹⁰ The two men inside reached out fast. They grabbed Lot and pulled him back in. They slammed the door shut.

¹² The two men said to Lot, "Do you have anyone else here? Sons? Daughters? Sons-in-law? Anyone in this city who belongs to you? Get them out right now."
