Genesis 12

¹ Yahweh spoke to Abram. "Get up! Leave! Your land. Your family. Your father's house. Walk away from it all. Go to a land I will show you."

² "I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you with good things. Your name will be known everywhere. You will bring blessing to others."

⁴ So Abram went. Just like Yahweh said. Lot went with him. Abram was 75 years old when he left Haran behind.

⁷ Right then, Yahweh appeared to Abram! "I give this land to your kids." Abram built a stone altar on that spot. For Yahweh.

¹⁰ But hunger came. No food grew anywhere. Famine gripped the land! Abram went down to Egypt to wait it out.
