2 Samuel 6

² David and all the people with him set out from Baale Judah. They went to bring back the Ark of God. The Ark carries the Name. It bears the name of Yahweh who commands heaven's armies, who sits on his throne above the cherubim.

⁶ When they reached the threshing floor of Nacon, the oxen stumbled! Uzzah reached out fast and grabbed the Ark of God to keep it from falling.

⁸ David's heart burned with anger and pain because Yahweh had broken out against Uzzah. He named that place Perez Uzzah. People still call it that today.

¹² Someone told King David, "Yahweh has blessed Obed Edom's family and everything he owns because the Ark of God is there!" When David heard this, he went and brought the Ark of God up from Obed Edom's house to the City of David. Joy filled the whole journey!

¹⁶ The Ark of Yahweh entered the City of David. Michal, Saul's daughter, looked down from her window. She saw King David leaping and spinning before Yahweh. Her heart filled with disgust for him.
