2 Samuel 5
1 All the tribes of Israel came to David at Hebron. "We are your own bone and blood!
6 The king and his men marched to Jerusalem to attack the Jebusites who lived there. The Jebusites shouted insults at David. "You will never get in here! Even our blind and crippled people can keep you out!" They were sure David could never break through.
11 Hiram, the king of Tyre, sent messengers to David. He sent cedar logs and carpenters and stone workers. They built a palace for David.
17 The Philistines heard that David had been anointed king over Israel. All the Philistine armies came up hunting for him. David heard about it and went down to the fort.
