6 The fight between Saul's family and David's family dragged on. During this time, Abner grew stronger and stronger on Saul's side.
22 Right then, David's men and Joab came back from a raid. They dragged in huge piles of goods they had taken. But Abner was gone. David had already sent him away safe.
