2 Samuel 24

¹ Yahweh's anger burned hot against Israel again. He moved David's heart to do something that would hurt them. Yahweh said to him, "Go count every person in Israel and Judah."

¹⁵ So Yahweh sent a sickness across Israel from that morning until the time he set. Seventy thousand people died. From Dan all the way to Beersheba.

¹⁸ That same day, Gad came to David. He said, "Go up the hill. Build an altar to Yahweh on the grain floor of Araunah the Jebusite."
