2 Kings 25

1 In the ninth year of Zedekiah's rule, on the tenth day of the tenth month, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon marched against Jerusalem with his whole army. They ringed the city. They piled up dirt ramps for the attack.

4 The wall broke open! The soldiers ran in the night through the gate between the two walls near the king's garden. The enemy was everywhere. The king bolted toward the Jordan valley.

5 The army chased him down. They caught him on the flat ground near Jericho. His whole army scattered and left him alone.

6 They grabbed him. They dragged him to the king of Babylon at Riblah. There they pronounced his sentence.

8 In the fifth month, on the seventh day, in the nineteenth year of King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, Nebuzaradan came to Jerusalem. He led the king's guard.
