2 Kings 23

¹ The king sent out a call. All the leaders of Judah and Jerusalem came together before him.

¹⁵ He also tore down the altar at Bethel. That was the high place Jeroboam son of Nebat had made. Jeroboam had led Israel into sin. Josiah broke down the altar and the high place. He crushed them! He burned the high place. He ground it to dust. He burned the Asherah pole too.

²¹ The king called out to his people. His voice rang loud. "Celebrate the Passover for Yahweh your God! Do it exactly the way this covenant scroll says!"

³¹ Jehoahaz was twenty-three years old when he took the throne. He ruled Jerusalem for three months. His mother was Hamutal, daughter of Jeremiah from Libnah.
