¹ He was there from the very start! We heard him! We saw him with our own eyes! We stared at him up close! Our hands touched him! We are talking about the Word of life!

⁵ Here is the message we heard straight from him. Now we tell you. God is light! No darkness in him. Not even a shadow.

⁸ If we say we have no sin, we are fooling ourselves. The truth does not live in us.
