Signs and Parables

A Roman officer runs up to Jesus, out of breath. "My servant is back home, dying. He cannot move." Jesus says, "I will come." But the officer shakes his head. "Just say the word from right here. Back at the officer's house, the servant opens his eyes. He takes a deep breath. He sits up. The pain is gone. The sickness is gone. He moves his arms, his legs. Everything works. It happened the very second Jesus spoke those words, miles away on a dusty road.

Two blind men sit by the road. They cannot see a thing. But they hear feet. Lots of feet. And a name. Jesus. They jump up and start shouting. "Son of David, have mercy on us!" They push forward through the crowd, hands out, calling His name over and over and over.
