Presented in the Temple

Then the sky ripped open. Angels — thousands of them — filled the air from one end to the other! Their voices shook the ground like rolling thunder. "Glory to God in the highest heaven! And peace on earth to the people he loves!" The whole sky was on fire with light and sound.

The angels left. The sky went black. The shepherds sat there, breathing hard, staring at each other. Then one of them said it. "We have to go. Right now." They ran through the dark all the way to Bethlehem. They found Mary. They found Joseph. And there — in the feeding box — the baby. They told...

Eight days later, they named him. Jesus — the very name the angel gave before he was even born. Then Joseph and Mary carried him to the Temple in Jerusalem. They came to give him to God, and they brought a sacrifice, just the way the law said.
