Philemon
Paul wrote a short letter to a man named Philemon. He thanked God for Philemon's faith and love. Philemon had helped many believers. His home was a place where tired hearts could rest. Paul prayed that his faith would grow even deeper, like roots reaching down into wet ground.
Paul had a favor to ask. He did not use force. He used love. A slave named Onesimus had run away from Philemon. But everything had changed. Onesimus met Paul in prison and gave his life to Jesus. Now Paul sent him back -- not as a slave to punish, but as a brother to hold close. Paul begged...
If Onesimus owes you anything, Paul wrote, put it on my name. I will pay it back. Then a gentle push: Philemon, you owe me your very life. Paul trusted him to do even more than he asked. The debt could be closed. The wall between master and slave could come down. The friendship could grow.
