David: Saul's End
Saul will not stop. David is so tired of running that he goes to Achish, the king of Gath, and begs to live in his land. Achish gives him the small town of Ziklag. David takes all his men and their families and moves there. He is living among his enemies now, sleeping under an enemy roof.
From Ziklag, David leads raids on nearby peoples. But he lies to Achish. He says he attacked villages in Judah. Achish believes every word and thinks David has turned against his own people for good. David hides what he really does while he eats the enemy's bread and lives under the enemy's roof.
The Philistines gather a great army to fight Israel, and Achish brings David along. But the other Philistine leaders shake their heads. No! We do not trust this man! What if he turns on us in the middle of the fight? Achish has no choice. He sends David away. David and his men turn back on the long...
