1 Corinthians

Paul writes to the church in the city of Corinth. God called them to belong to Jesus! Grace and peace flow from God the Father and the Lord Jesus. God gave them every gift they need. He will hold them steady all the way to the end. The God who called them will never let them go.

The church is tearing itself apart! Some shout, "I follow Paul!" Others say, "I follow Apollos!" Others, "I follow Peter!" And some say, "I follow only Christ!" Paul fires back: Is Christ cut into pieces? Was Paul nailed to a cross for you? Were you baptized in Paul's name? No! Stop splitting up...

The story of the cross sounds foolish to some ears. But to those being saved, it is the power of God! God takes the world's best thinking and turns it upside down. Some people want big miracles. Others want clever ideas. But Paul just tells them about Christ on a cross. Some get angry. Some laugh...
