Matthew 28

¹ The Sabbath ended. Sunday morning started to break. Mary Magdalene and the other Mary walked to the grave.

² Suddenly the ground shook! An earthquake! An angel of the Lord dropped down from the sky. He walked right up to the stone. He rolled it away like it was nothing. Then he sat down on top of it.

⁵ The angel looked at the women. "Do not be afraid. I know you are looking for Jesus. The one they killed on the cross."

⁹ Jesus himself met them on the road. "Hello!" The women dropped to the ground. They grabbed his feet. They gave him worship.

¹¹ While the women were running to tell the disciples, some of the soldiers ran into the city. They told the chief priests everything.
