Isaiah 37

King Hezekiah heard it all. Tore his clothes. Wrapped rough cloth around his body. Walked straight into Yahweh's house.

They said to him, "Hezekiah says this: Today is a day of pain. A day of punishment. A day of shame so deep you cannot lift your head. Like a woman about to give birth, but her strength is gone. The baby is stuck. She cannot push."

Isaiah said to them, "Tell your master this. Yahweh says: Do not be scared of the words you heard. Do not shake because of what those servants of Assyria's king said against me."

Rabshakeh turned around and found the king of Assyria hammering the city of Libnah. He had already left Lachish behind.

Hezekiah grabbed the letter from the men who brought it. Read it top to bottom. Then walked up into Yahweh's house and spread the letter out flat right in front of Yahweh.
