2 Kings 7

1 Elisha stood up. "Hear what Yahweh says! Tomorrow at this time, you will buy a basket of good flour for one silver coin. Two baskets of barley for one coin. Right at Samaria's gate!"

3 Four men with skin sickness sat outside the gate. They looked at each other. "Why are we sitting here waiting to die?"

6 Here is what happened. Yahweh made the whole Syrian army hear something. Chariots! Horses! A massive army thundering toward them! They screamed at each other. "Israel's king hired the Hittites! He hired Egypt! They are coming for us!"

8 The four sick men walked into the first tent. They stuffed food in their mouths! They gulped down wine! They grabbed silver and gold and clothes and ran off to hide it. Then they came back and hit another tent. More treasure. More hiding.

10 They ran to the city gate and yelled up to the guards. "We went to the Syrian camp! No one is there! Not one man! The horses are still tied. The donkeys are still tied. The tents are standing. But everyone is gone!"
